Eastbourne has many attractions for visitors, there are three local theatres, two cinemas and many restaurants, bistros and bars. For the more active there is the Spray Centre for windsurfing and sailing, there is hiking and orienteering over the downs. Eastbourne has one of the only instructors in the country for Nordic Pole Walking and the Downs or the seafront are ideal places for this activity.

There is opportunity to hire roller blades or bicycles on the seafront or just to walk and enjoy the views of the Downs on one side and Sovereign Harbour on the other.

For a more relaxing break there are historical sites such as Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Castle, and local tea rooms at Alfriston Village and Littlington - all about 10-15 minutes by car.

On the seafront at Eastbourne there is the bandstand with a brass band each Wednesday evening, jazz at the Pavilion tea-rooms and military music and fireworks at the Redoubt Fortress. In August there is the annual "Airbourne" airshow with the Red Arrows display team, this is usually the busiest week of the year.
